Hello EVERYONE!  Welcome to the life of an ex-restaurant owner.  Once you have owned a restaurant you are never the same.  As you get to know me, and hopefully, as I get to know you, you will see exactly what I mean.  

I am starting this blog as a way to share all the recipes and experiences I have banked up in my life.  From the good, the bad, and the ugly (sometimes the ugly recipes turned out to be the best)!

I hope you visit often as I start to release the recipes from my restaurant. The famous Maurie Kay’s crab cakes have been blogged about and appeared in several magazines (including Texas Monthly). There is not a week that goes by that someone doesn’t ask me about a recipe I use to make at The Acme, which is what has inspired me to start blogging.
