My husband has an aunt named Leola, that makes this beautiful fruit salad. I have known Leola ever since Jim and I started dating thirty-seven years ago.  I will never forget the first time we went to Aunt Leola and Uncle Al’s house in Fredericksburg, Texas, for Thanksgiving. Leola made this fruit salad, and I have been hooked ever since. What I like the most about this fruit salad is that a can of peach pie filling is the base. With this base, you can add any fruit that you want, and it turns out delicious every time. Over the years, if Leola could not bring her fruit salad, I always made sure that it was still on the menu. I like making this fruit salad for occasions other than holidays using whatever fruit is currently in season.
