Often times I just want to take things up a notch. Tonight we were celebrating a birthday and I wanted to make something a little special without taking hours in the kitchen and I think this Pork Chop with Pecan Honey Glaze is just what I needed! When I had the restaurant, I would make a pear and pecan chutney and this is an adaptation of that.
Pork Chops with Pecan Honey Glaze
Yield = 8 Pork Chops
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- ⅔ cup honey
- ⅓ cup honey (for the top) : This is the honey we usually get from HEB
- ½ tsp salt
- Oil for the bottom of fry pan
- 8 ½ in pork chops
Take the pork chops and brown both sides in a little bit of canola oil. Place the browned chops in a baking dish. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Once all the pork is browned use the frypan with the leftover oil (may have some pork fat in the oil) and combine the pecans with the ⅔ cup of honey. Spread the pecan mixture over the pork chops. Drizzle the ⅓ cup additional honey over them and the ½ tsp salt.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the pork reaches 160 degrees internally.
Enjoy!
For another great pork dish try my Mexican Pork Chops. They are tasty but simple!
