I love good sauce! Sometimes all it takes to make a basic meal into a marvelous meal is a sauce. This Basic Lemon Butter Sauce is one of my favorites. It is so simple to make. I make this sauce and serve it over fish, chicken, and even steak. In this picture, notice that I have used it over fish and then plated it with rice and vegetables.

1 cup of chicken broth
1/2 cup of heavy cream
1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese
1 Tablespoon lemon juice
Directions
- In a saucepan on medium heat melt 2 Tablespoons of butter.
- Stir in 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic, 1 cup of chicken broth, 1/2 cup of heavy cream, 1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese, and 1 Tablespoon of lemon juice.
- Allow the sauce to come to a slow bubble.
- For this Fish
- For this Cod, I placed some of the sauce on top of the fish with a touch of Panko Bread Crumbs and broiled it for a crispy topping. Then additional sauce was added to the cooked rice on the plate.
Notes
Note: I like to use Better than Bouillon for my chicken broth.
